WELCOME TO DIDIM
Didim is known as a holiday resort where people who are stuck in city life are on vacation. But in fact, it got its name from Didyma, also known as the Temple of Apollo, the largest consciousness center in history.
Instead of the first temple destroyed by the Persians, a larger, more magnificent temple was built with the order and support of Alexander the Great; however, despite 600 years of work, it could not be finished. Because salaried workers worked here instead of slaves, and when the workers did not find their salaries sufficient, the first strike in history took place here! Due to these strikes from time to time, the transportation, processing and replacement of 70 tonnes of marble has been disrupted. A.D. In the 350s, there was no need for such a center of consciousness, since Christianity was spreading thoroughly.
The temple is one of the masterpieces of ancient architecture. 20 m. height, more than 2 m diameter, 122 pieces of Ionic marble columns 40 km. It was brought from Heraklia, at the foot of the Five Finger Mountains. If this temple could be finished, it could be the 8th wonder of the world.
